When attending PMEXPO, it's important to dress in a way that is comfortable for a day of walking and networking. Here are some guidelines on what to wear:
1. Business Casual: Opt for business casual attire. This typically includes slacks or khakis and a collared shirt or blouse. Feel free to embrace our "Game On" theme with your attire.
2. Comfortable Shoes: Wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking and standing for an extended period. Trade shows often involve a lot of walking, so choose shoes that provide support.
3. Layers: Our trade show is occurring in late October and temperatures can vary, so consider layering your clothing. This allows you to adjust to different conditions by adding or removing layers as needed.
4. Name Badge: We will provide a name badge when you check-in at the registration desk. Wear it prominently for easy identification.
Networking at PMEXPO can be highly beneficial for your professional growth and business. Here are some helpful hints to make the most of your networking opportunities:
1. Set Clear Goals: Define your objectives for networking. Are you looking to generate leads, find potential partners, or learn from industry experts? Having clear goals will guide your interactions.
2. Prepare Elevator Pitch: Craft a concise and compelling elevator pitch that introduces yourself and your company. Highlight what sets you apart and how you can provide value to others.
3. Research Attendees: Before the event, research the list of attendees, exhibitors and speakers. Identify key individuals or companies you want to connect with, and learn about their backgrounds and interests. Note: PMEXPO exhibitors will receive a list of registered attendees two weeks prior to the show.
4. Bring Business Cards: Ensure you have an ample supply of business cards. Exchange cards with new contacts to facilitate follow-up communication. EXHIBITORS, consider purchasing the Lead Generation App to assist with keeping track of attendees who visit your booth.
5. Engage Actively: Approach conversations with a genuine interest in others. Ask open-ended questions and actively listen to their responses. Show appreciation for their insights.
6. Body Language: Maintain positive body language. Make eye contact, offer a firm handshake and smile. A welcoming demeanor can make a strong first impression.
7. Quality Over Quantity: It's not about collecting as many business cards as possible. Focus on building meaningful connections with a few individuals who align with your objectives.
8. Follow Up Promptly: After the show, send follow-up emails or messages to the people you met. Reference your conversation and express your interest in staying connected.
9. Leverage Social Media: Connect with your new contacts on LinkedIn or other relevant social media platforms. Engage with their posts to maintain a presence in their network.
10. Offer Value: Networking is a two-way street. Offer to help others when you can, whether it's by sharing industry insights, making introductions, or providing resources.
11. Be Memorable: Find ways to stand out. Share unique stories, insights, or experiences that leave a lasting impression on those you meet.
12. Respect Time: Be mindful of people's time. If they're engaged in a conversation, wait for an appropriate moment to introduce yourself rather than interrupting.
14. Stay Informed: Keep up with industry news and trends. Being well-informed allows you to engage in meaningful discussions with your contacts.
15. Join Industry Groups: Consider joining a committee or council to have common group for Association discussion. These can extend your networking opportunities beyond the trade show.
Remember that effective networking takes time and effort. Building strong relationships can lead to new opportunities, collaborations and business growth. Be patient and persistent, but respectful, in your networking efforts.
