Amanda Akers, CAS

Amanda Akers has been the Director of Marketing & Sales for Associates Plumbing, Inc. since 2012. A large part of her role is cultivating and maintaining relationships with property management professionals.

Amanda’s involvement with the Property Management Association has enabled her to establish strong connections within the property management industry and collaborate with other associate members to identify and create new business opportunities.

Amanda started her career as a Recruiter with Aerotek. In 2009, she transitioned into the property management industry as Marketing Coordinator with Belfor Property Restoration. That was the year she joined PMA.

As an active member, Amanda has served on the Summer Classic and the Membership Committees for 11 years. She was one of the founding members of PMA's Toastmasters Club and has volunteered with the Community Service Committee at numerous events, including developing and presenting resume writing workshops during Career Days at Cornerstone Montgomery and So Others Might Eat. In 2013, she took over as Co-Chair of the Membership Committee and continued in that role for eight years until being elected to the Board in 2021.

Over the years, Amanda has pursued continuing education and capitalized on opportunities to expand her knowledge in the industry. She earned her Certified Apartment Supplier designation in 2016 from the National Apartment Association and attends various professional development workshops throughout the year.

Amanda received PMA's Distinguished Service Award in 2015 and the Stanley F. Reid Humanitarian Award in 2017
